300+ students. 29 teams. 1 unforgettable day
On 13th May, Castle Park hosted the inaugural Delta Rugby Union Championships, bringing together more than 300 students, 29 teams and 17 academies for a celebration of competition, teamwork and opportunity.

The event saw students from across Delta take part in both touch and tackle rugby, creating opportunities for experienced players and those trying rugby union for the first time. Despite challenging weather conditions, students demonstrated outstanding commitment, resilience and teamwork throughout the day.
Supported by the Jason Robinson Foundation and Doncaster Knights, students gained access to expert coaching, insight into high-performance sport and inspiration from professional rugby environments.

The event also included elite athletic testing delivered by The Fitness Coach, where students had the opportunity to measure their speed and jump power using advanced technology similar to that used in professional sporting environments. Scouts were also in attendance, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their potential.
The championships mark the beginning of an exciting rugby programme across Delta, helping to create new opportunities for students to develop their skills, confidence and aspirations through sport.
