At Goole Academy, Relationships and Sex Education helps students develop the knowledge, confidence and understanding they need to make safe, healthy and respectful choices.
Our RSE curriculum forms part of our wider Personal Development programme and supports students to understand themselves, build positive relationships, stay safe and prepare for adult life.
RSE is taught in an age-appropriate, inclusive and evidence-informed way, ensuring students receive accurate information and know where to access support when needed.
Our Approach
Everything we teach is underpinned by three principles:
Safe
Helping students recognise risk, stay safe and seek help when needed.
Respectful
Promoting kindness, dignity, consent and healthy relationships.
Prepared
Equipping students with the knowledge and confidence needed for adult life.
What students learn through RSE

Our RSE Curriculum
Our curriculum is carefully sequenced from Year 7 to Year 11.

Working with Big Talk Education
A key part of our RSE provision is our partnership with Big Talk Education, a nationally recognised organisation specialising in Relationships and Sex Education.
Big Talk Education delivers age-appropriate workshops to students across different year groups.

These sessions are delivered by experienced educators and provide students with accurate information in a professional, engaging and supportive environment.
The programme complements our taught curriculum and ensures students receive expert guidance on topics that are important to their safety, wellbeing and future relationships.
Support for Students
Students are encouraged to seek support whenever they need it.
Support is available from:
- Year Leaders
- The Safeguarding Team
- Teaching Staff
- Big Talk Staff
- Any trusted adult within the academy
Students may also be signposted to external support services where appropriate.
