Mathematics Conference 2026
For the second consecutive year, Delta Academies Trust brought together mathematics teachers, Principals and senior leaders from across the Trust to share best practice, celebrate success and strengthen a collective commitment to improving outcomes for all students.

Built around the theme “The Year 11 Standard – For All,” the conference focused on ensuring that the high expectations, routines and teaching strategies that drive success at Key Stage 4 are embedded throughout every year group. Reflecting on the importance of the event, one attendee said, “One of the most powerful aspects of the day was seeing school leaders and maths teachers learning side by side, united by a common purpose.”
Throughout the day, sessions showcased practical approaches from leaders and classroom practitioners across the Trust, highlighting the impact of consistent methodologies, retrieval practice, effective modelling and high-quality classroom routines. Delegates explored strategies to develop resilient learners, improve recall and fluency, support students with additional needs and reduce mathematics anxiety, while maintaining ambitious expectations for all.

As one maths leader explained, “The consistency of approach developing across our academies is giving students the best possible chance of success,” reinforcing the conference’s focus on collaboration and shared practice. Examiner-led sessions also provided valuable insights into GCSE assessment, helping staff refine approaches that improve student outcomes.
A key message throughout the conference was the power of working together. Presenters demonstrated how trust-wide methodologies, professional development and shared resources are creating greater consistency across academies and ensuring every student benefits from high-quality mathematics teaching. As one delegate reflected, “The willingness of colleagues to share ideas openly is what makes Delta special. We genuinely learn from one another.”
The conference concluded with celebrations of academy achievements and a renewed determination to continue raising standards. Colleagues left with practical ideas, stronger professional networks and a shared belief that, through collaboration, consistency and high expectations, every student can succeed in mathematics.
Summing up the ambition of the day, one leader said, “When every maths teacher, Principal and leader comes together around a shared vision, the impact on pupils is transformational.” Another added, “The conference showcased the incredible expertise that exists across Delta and our commitment to ensuring every child experiences the very best mathematics education.”
