Parents and carers play the most significant role in shaping a young person’s aspirations, career choices and future ambitions. By working in partnership, we can ensure every student is equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed decisions about their next steps. At Goole Academy, we are committed to delivering a high-quality careers programme that meets the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Equalex Work Experience Guarantee, providing students with meaningful encounters with employers, further and higher education providers, and the world of work. We encourage parents and carers to engage with careers conversations at home, support attendance at careers events and work experience opportunities, and make use of the information and resources available through the academy. 

Unifrog 

Both students and parents/carers also have access to Unifrog (Link), our online careers platform. Unifrog brings together information on every available pathway, including apprenticeships, college courses, university degrees and employment opportunities, all in one place. Students can research careers, compare pathways, record their skills and achievements, build CVs, search for opportunities and complete careers-related activities set by the academy. Parents and carers of students at Goole Academy will receive an account to the platform which will help you to support conversations about future plans and ensuring your child is fully informed throughout the decision-making process with up-to-date and reliable information.
