Employers are at the heart of preparing young people for the world of work. By working in partnership with Goole Academy, you can inspire students, broaden aspirations and help them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for their future. Your support enables us to deliver high-quality careers education through meaningful encounters with employers and workplaces, helping us achieve the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Equalex Work Experience Guarantee. Whether you can offer a workplace visit, mock interview, careers talk, mentoring, enterprise activity or work experience, your involvement can make a lasting difference to a young person’s future.

The updated Gatsby Benchmarks place a strong emphasis on providing meaningful encounters—activities with a clear purpose, defined learning outcomes, opportunities for two-way interaction, and time for students to reflect on what they have learned.

If you are new to working with schools or would like to learn more about what makes an encounter meaningful, the Careers & Enterprise Company has produced practical guidance for employers, which you can access here: Guidance for Employers: Gatsby Benchmark Updates
